About Us

Picture

Harmony Riding is a quality horseback riding program dedicated to fostering a deep connection between horse and rider. We specialise in horsemanship, performance riding, and equine and rider biomechanics, offering a comprehensive approach to equestrian education.

Welcoming riders of all experience levels, Harmony Riding is committed to providing personalised instruction that meets the unique needs of each student. Our philosophy emphasises the importance of the whole horse, incorporating elements such as nutrition, saddle fit, body work, and proper hoof care to ensure the health and well-being of our equine partners.

With expertise in a variety of disciplines, including western pleasure, hunter pleasure, jumping, dressage fundamentals, and ranch riding, we offer diverse opportunities for riders to explore and excel in their chosen areas. Whether you’re a beginner learning the basics or an advanced rider refining your skills, our experienced instructors are here to guide you every step of the way.

Our Mission:

To build strong riders who understand equine and rider biomechanics and can ride in harmony with their horse in both a pleasure or competition setting.

Shellie Rock

Shellie's passion for horses started when she got her first horse at age 12. As she self-trained her personal horses for competitions, her love for training and teaching developed into a passion.
Now, Shellie has been riding and training for 17 years. She uses a patient and gentle approach, while still maintaining respect from her equine partners.
In the past years, Shellie has done many competitions from breed shows to trail competitions. This includes both western and english disciplines. She has experience with western pleasure, hunter pleasure, ranch riding, dressage, and equitation. She is familiar with a variety of breeds and was won many awards in her competitions.
Shellie started HR 10 years ago due to her love of horses and teaching. She has worked with all ages and levels of riders. Shellie also has EAGALA training and has worked as an Equine Specialist for an equine-assisted psychotherapy program. Shellie also has experience  in both rider and equine biomechanics and uses this as the foundation of her coaching.
Shellie is educated through Saddlefit 4 Life as an Equine Ergonomist, plus additional education through a UK-based saddle fitting program. She offers independent saddle fitting services focused on horse comfort, biomechanics, and performance.

Chelsea Mackert
Assistant Instructor

Chelsea's love of horses began before she could talk. She started riding at the age of 12 and bought her first horse at 16 and still her passion for them only continues to grow. She owns 2 paint horses: Passion and Rain, who have become part time lesson horses. She loves teaching anyone and everyone about these animals and sharing the lessons they can teach us in return. Her passion for relationship and connection fuels her desire to be able to communicate effectively. She loves kids and strives to help to mentor the new generation of horse-folk with emphasis on how horses can improve our lives and even our interpersonal relationships.
